The Butcher's Guild: The Bloody Master Information

The Butcher's Guild: The Bloody Master“You’re just meat to them. Weak, tender, soft meat. And they’re the Butchers.”—    Greyscales, Fishermen’s GuildTougher than gristle, Ox sees Guild Ball as nothing but brutal blood sport. More merciless maniac than athlete, the master butcher has transformed the pitch into a kitchen nightmare—cleavers, knives, hooks, you name it, his team wields it. Why the cutlery? Because to this deranged butcher, everyone—even his teammates—is a succulent meat bag, crying out for pain. His team’s playstyle is simple: get to the opposing team and shred flesh until there’s nothing left. With a ruthless and unforgiving captain, it’s no surprise their bread and butter is mid- to late game, after they’ve broken the minds and bodies of their opponents. Coaches eager to skewer and maim will delight in the savage brutality of these Butchers.Cleaving their way to winner’s circle one opponent at a time, this set includes a ball, 6 player cards, bases, and 6 players: Ox, Princess, Brisket, Boiler, Boar, Shank.

THE HISTORY OF GUILD BALL

Mob football is a game generally played between neighbouring towns and villages on feast days (hence the popularity). Players on opposing teams clash to control a leather-wrapped inflated pig's bladder and attempt to kick it into the opponent’s goal. Over the years, rudimentary leagues and tournaments have sprung up; there have even been some national level games between some city states. The powerful Guilds of the land have taken advantage of the huge popularity of the sport as another means to control the masses. They invested vast sums of money; creating professional Guild sponsored teams and structured leagues. The public went crazy as the game was elevated to new heights of spectacle. Guild Ball was born amidst a blaze of interest and publicity and with it, a whole new business and revenue stream for the Guilds. Games are now played out in front of vast crowds of fans, whilst behind the scenes the results can mean fortunes are won or lost on the kick of a ball.
